About the Journal

The International Journal of Society 5.0 (IJS5) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal that publishes high-quality interdisciplinary research on the interactions between technology, artificial intelligence (AI), governance, and sustainable human development within the Society 5.0 framework. The journal aims to advance critical, empirical, and theoretical studies that examine how technological innovation can be aligned with human-centered values, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, democratic governance, and the protection of human rights in the digital era.

IJS5 welcomes contributions addressing a broad range of topics, including AI and inclusive development, participatory democracy, green public policy, smart cities, green farming, technology-enabled community empowerment, transparency and access to public information, technology and AI literacy, and digital governance. The journal accepts diverse methodological approaches, such as qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, policy analysis, comparative studies, and systematic reviews, across local to global contexts. By bridging technology and society, IJS5 seeks to contribute to global academic discourse, support evidence-based policymaking, and promote ethical, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation. This journal is published twice a year in April and September.
